Description
The assignment consisted of a weekend house for a family of 6, with the possibility of accommodating many guests.
The project is located in the district of Casablanca, about 50 minutes from Santiago, towards the coast. The house is located in the upper part of the property. From this area, the valley is dominated by tall vegetation.
This condition of viewpoint among the trees, constituted one of the guidelines of the project, placing the house among the quillayes to protect it from the sun and generate a boundary between the enclosures and the valley.
In order to obtain luminous spaces, the program is distributed around a central courtyard.
The program is divided into two levels, upstairs the public level which should be in constant relation with the exterior and the first floor, which should be a more intimate and silent space. On the upper level and to the south is the kitchen with a large dining room; to the west a living room; to the north the living room, dining room and master bedroom, all overlooking the valley; to the east 2 guest bedrooms.
On the first floor there is a corridor that leads to 4 bedrooms.
Reinforced concrete structure, and its exterior cladding had to be a long-lasting and easy to maintain material, for which Northway fiber cement boards were chosen, installed horizontally and on edge.
