The Santo Domingo and Bahía Mala Rivers are located on both sides of the property, being their natural and immovable boundaries. The sea penetrates into the interior of the property in a length of approximately 2.2 km and 400 meters wide, forming a gulf of remarkable characteristics and extraordinary beauty, which could be a good anchorage for yachts and other vessels, with gently sloping banks on both sides. This sea inlet is called “Estero Los Patos”. This area is especially privileged for the sighting of the Blue Whale, due to its special concentration in the sector, in addition to other exponents of the Marine Fauna. Native Fauna: Puma, Chucao, Aguiluchos, Chilean Beaver, Gato Montes and others. Native Forest: Mañío, Canelo, Luma Arrayán, Coigue, Tepa, Laurel and Copihue among others. It has numerous streams and small waterfalls, in addition to the existence of hot springs and thermal springs. They are currently operational for research and tourism projects. Finally, we highlight the approval of Decree No. 13, dated February 18, 2014 on the Project “Protected Coastal Marine Area” that includes the property in question, which allows this area to be one of the privileged few, becoming a true “sanctuary”, free of salmon farms, greatly increasing the special characteristics for conservation, tourism in the area and in addition to the attractions offered by the Corcovado.
